Couldn't parse dbx signatures: -74 error on linux boot

I recently put Ubuntu on my laptop after trying linux mint for a while

Seems to work fine but I get the following error on boot:

Couldn't parse dbx signatures: -74

Seems to work fine otherwise is this something I should worry about

Hi @netblaze, welcome to Computer Forums

That certainly is an odd error, could you tell us some more info please?

-Where exactly in the boot process do you see this error?

-What make/model of laptop do you have?

-Which version of Ubuntu have you installed?

Hi thanks for getting back to me
-Where exactly in the boot process do you see this error?
It’s after the lenovo boot logo comes up
-What make/model of laptop do you have?
lenovo ideapad s340
-Which version of Ubuntu have you installed?
20.04

Do you know if you are using UEFI or legacy/CSM boot?

Do you know if secure boot is on?

Check these settings in your BIOS settings

Thanks for your reply, i am guessing UEFI, secure boot is ON

One thing you might want to try is resetting your UEFI settings and looking for ‘boot keys’ / ‘secure boot reset’ within the UEFI settings. It varies model to model but try resetting absolutely everything to defaults and see if it resolves

Thank you so much!!!

At first it didnt work but I then reset both the UEFI keys and entire BIOS settings, then changed from setup mode to normal mode and this has stopped the issue! another error briefly flashes on screen but my laptop doesnt get stuck on this screen at least!
