USB Drives don't work on a Windows 2000 OS?

The USB drives on my Motherboard do not work with my USB Flash drive or my SATA-USB Converter. I’m running Windows 2000 5.00.2195 Service Pack 4 In the device manager, nothing is “lit up” as not working. There doesn’t appear to be an option to turn on or off the Drivers in the Bios setting. I cannot think of anything else to try.

Thank you for your help!
