I also had the SNES version, albiet the framerate was pretty poor at least on the EU version. As soon as I got my first Intel-based PC DOOM was the first game I ran and I played it for months!
Nice! Sounds like you knew what you were doing about it! PC Doom was a great game as well. The graphics were indeed better than the graphics on the SNES but the SNES version was still fun.
