So there’s a new version of Linux Mint out. It’s supported until 2025, and so far after using it for a bit it seems damn stable and perhaps a little faster than the older version even on my little netbook PC.

I’ll have to spin up a virtual machine and have a play - have been recommending Linux Mint or Ubuntu for those with older PCs for a while now.
