Hi there,

Welcome to Computer Forums 😁

Are you looking to permamently wipe the data from the machine or will you continue to use it?

If you just want to install Vista ‘over’ XP the quickest solution is to delete the existing partitions and recreate them using the Vista setup DVD.

Also - Vista is quite an old OS. While it will be fine for offline work and playing older games, you might want to consider putting something like Linux mint on the machine if you want to use it for online tasks.

Save your data (external) and then boot your computer from the new installation DVD with the boot manager. Afterwards start the installation.
