I'm trying to change my laptop IP. I''ve ĝone through the rigmarole up to the final step: "Input an IP address." Where does that come from? I'm astonished that this isn't explained! Hope someone can guide me. Thanks.
Just to clarify - are you trying to set a static local IP address, i.e within your own home network, or trying to change your public IP, e.g the one that comes up when you use a IP checker website?
Thanks for your reply. I see that my present address is local, but I'm wondering whether that's appropriate. Doesn't it have a restrictive effect on internet use?
