My laptop keyboard has been giving some bad time with its clicking ability overall and I’ve noticed that there has been a lot of gunk on uts sides. Are the stuck keys caused because of lack of cleaning…?

Gunk definately won’t help with this. Best thing to use would be a cotton bud and some cleaning alcohol / isopropyl alcohol, and plenty of time and patience. If it’s a desktop keyboard you can maybe pull the keys for cleaning after taking a picture of the layout so you can put them back but for laptop keyboards they can be a bit fragile so not worth pulling the keys

Also some compressed air would be great for getting rid of any crumbs sitting under the key. Have you spilled any drinks on it or anything?

Just as @Philtrum mentioned iso propyl Alcohol or a dedicated cleaning solution is a good way to go through dealing with gunk that accumulated as the keyboard is used and keep water as far away from it as possible. As thats just a major hazard for keyboards. Also try to avoid keeping coke or any softdrink near you keyboard as much as possible 🙌
